Bulgaria has issued orange-level weather warnings for six districts in anticipation of heavy rainfall expected on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The districts under the orange alert include Kurdzhali, Haskovo, Yambol, Bourgas, Varna, and Shoumen, where rain could be particularly intense. Additionally, most other districts across the country have been placed under yellow-level alerts due to potentially dangerous weather conditions.

The national weather forecast predicts cloudy and rainy conditions throughout Bulgaria, with central and eastern areas likely to experience intense rainfall. In contrast, precipitation in the southwest is expected to diminish over the course of the day. Moderate northerly winds are forecast nationwide, with temporarily strong gusts anticipated in eastern regions. Temperatures are projected to range from 10°C to 15°C, with the capital, Sofia, expected to reach approximately 11°C.

Mountainous areas in Bulgaria will see cloudy, windy, and rainy weather, with snowfall anticipated at elevations above 1,700 meters. Areas like the central Balkan Mountains, the Rhodope Mountains, Strandzha, and Sakar are expected to receive significant rainfall. Temperatures in these regions may reach 6°C at 1,200 meters and approximately 1°C at 2,000 meters.

Along the Black Sea coast, residents can expect cloudy skies, rain, and strong winds, with the possibility of locally heavy precipitation in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures along the coast will range from 15°C to 17°C, and sea temperatures are forecasted to be between 20°C and 21°C. A yellow-level warning has also been issued for strong winds and waves along the coast, prompting authorities to advise residents and travelers to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions.

While Sofia City, Pernik, Kyustendil, and Blagoevgrad are not currently under any weather warnings, the rest of the country is urged to remain vigilant and prepare for the forecasted adverse weather conditions.
