Wrexham celebrated their first Championship win of the season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Millwall, enhancing their aspirations for Premier League promotion. After beginning the campaign with draws against Cardiff and Watford and a home loss to Birmingham, Wrexham delivered a strong performance in south London.
The breakthrough came when Zak Sturge inadvertently turned Issa Kaboré’s cross into his own net, giving Wrexham the lead in the first half. Kieffer Moore extended the advantage shortly after halftime with a powerful 20-yard strike, and Jacques Ekomié sealed the win with a close-range finish, cementing a dominant victory.
For Millwall, the result marked another setback as they have now conceded eight goals in their past two matches, despite starting the season with consecutive clean sheets. Their situation worsened with injuries to key players Josh Coburn and Casper De Norre.
In other matches, QPR continued their strong form with a 2-1 win over Cardiff at Loftus Road, thanks to Rumarn Burrell’s two goals, while Perry Ng scored for Cardiff. This victory lifted QPR to 10 points from four games.
Elsewhere, Burnley and Middlesbrough played to a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor, with Aidan Morris scoring for Middlesbrough and Ugo Raghouber equalizing for Burnley shortly after halftime. Charlton maintained their unbeaten run by drawing 1-1 with West Brom, as Callum Styles put West Brom in front before Tyreece Campbell secured the equalizer in the second half.
